The powerful women of MCU(marvel cinematic universe)

When superheroes are talked about, many of us think of a muscular man sporting a chiselled body with all righteousness surging through the veins. But with changing times, Marvel has proved that they could be much more than just that. Bringing the women of the MCU to the forefront in the final instalment of its Avenger series, the makers set the stage for female superheroes to take the lead. This can be seen in the next release from the studio, X-men & The Dark Pheonix featuring Sophie Turner. Let's have a look at 11 badass MCU slay queens.

1. Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff: Played on the big screen by Elizabeth Olsen, this MCU lady proved to be quite a threat to the greatest villain the Avengers ever faced who is none other than Thanos played by Josh Brolin. In Avengers infinity war Wanda single-handedly controlled Thanos(still in possession of five infinity stones making him the most powerful man in the universe) while destroying the soul stone with the other hand! Also in the same movie, during the battle of Wakanda when the black order marches towards Okoye and Black Widow, Wanda comes to their rescue right in time and with one simple move kills the enemies. This move was so badass that it made the not-so-easily impressed Okoye say "why was she up there all this time?"

If that was not enough, she came back from the dead to get her revenge on Thanos in the next instalment and went head-on while confronting him. Now that's what we call a Superhero.

2. Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers: From busting the Skrulls to beating Thanos this MCU superhero has remained mostly away from Earth protecting other galaxies. With a host of powers, Captain Marvel has finally arrived in the Marvel cinematic universe and is here to stay. And let's not forget, she was the one to bring our beloved Tony Stark back on Earth when all hope was lost.

3.Pepper Potts: The first lady of MCU, Pepper is a hero in her own right. From taking care of Tony Stark to handling his home as well as his company she has aced it all. Later to be a mother to Tony's child Morgan Stark and then entering the battlefield in her rescue armour, she went on to prove that she is strong and quite powerful too. And Gwyneth Paltrow portrayed the role beautifully for all the MCU adaptations of the character.

4.Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff: With combat moves like those of this spy, nobody stood a chance to defeat her until she herself gave her life for the soul stone. Scarlet Johannson reportedly dyed her hair red even before acquiring the role because she wanted it so bad. And well the casting fit like a piece of the puzzle. Black Widow nailed every fight she found herself into be it the Chittauri army, the Black order or the Ultron and his bots. A pretty face and a body like that is sure a lethal combination!

5.Gamora: Kidnapped and trained to be an assassin by Thanos,  Gamora can be called a one-woman army as she takes on the deadliest creatures of the galaxy. And with her return as Hulk reverses the snap, we can't wait to see her kick some assess in the upcoming GOTG3

6.Nebula: A ruthless warrior and sister to Gamora Nebula was the one to wield the gauntlet in the comics after Thanos. In the movies, Nebula fights Thanos till the end to ensure his defeat along with the other Avengers. Her company helps Tony Stark survive as their spaceship strutters in the galaxy after the events of Infinity war. Karen Gillan not only shaved her head for her role of Nebula but also sported her bald look at Comic Con, San Diego. You go, girl!

7.Okoye: A trustworthy accomplice of  King T'challa and fierce warrior of Wakanda Okoye is loyal, dedicated and a true fighter. She has her priorities straight and wouldn't budge to kill her lover for the nation. Maintaining her composure through the toughest times Okoye portrays grace and battleship at the same time.

8. Wasp/Hope Pym: Daughter of doctor Hank Pym & Janet Van Dyne, Hope takes on the Wasp suit created by his father to defeat Darren Cross and stop him from recreating Hank Pym's formula along with Scott Lang as Ant-Man. She is seen again in Avengers Endgame(2019) fighting Thanos's army with everyone else.

9.  Valkyrie: Adding to our list of warriors is Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson. She controlled the strongest avenger(Thor or Hulk you may argue, but she can handle both) as seen in Thor Ragnarok(2017). Taking a grand entry with a flying horse as noted by Peter Parker into the endgame battlefield, Valkyrie fought even the most feared creatures of them all. And what more "worthy'' than The God Of Thunder himself giving her the throne of Asgard.

10. Shuri: She is much more than a princess. A tech-nerd responsible for the greatest inventions of Wakanda including the Blackpanther suit, Shuri showed how powerful she is by handling Vibranium in a best-suited manner.

11. Mantis: Controlling the mad titan's mind? Yes, its something this superhero has done in the MCU. Doesn't that make her immensely powerful? With great mind reading abilities Mantis is a sympathetic yet a strong warrior.
